COURAGEOUS
CREATIVES
It’s time to bust the starving artist stigma and claim your self-sovereignty.
This podcast started as an idea, as I sat in peak hour traffic commuting to Melbourne. I wanted a creative life, but at that point, I didn’t have the courage to pursue it. All I wanted was some cheerleaders in my corner, saying, ‘Yes, it’s possible! Yes, you can do this! No, you don’t have to spend the next 40 years trying to climb a corporate ladder.’’ I wanted the freedom to forge a career, on my terms.
When the global pandemic hit in 2020, like many other people, my life took on a different course. Mid-lockdown, I handed in my resignation to my 9-5 and went into business with my Mum in our creative studio-atelier Hope & Co. I’m now a full-time creative, and spend my days as a sought-after brand and editorial photographer, writer – and now co-owner of this beautiful company, The Creative’s Toolkit, and podcast host. Wherever my creative skills are called in different seasons of life, they go.
All my life, I’d always heard ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’ – but people often forget to include the quote its actual entirety, ‘still always better than a master of one’. So that’s what I set out to do.
I made the fact that I’m a multi-creative, my superpower. And if you’re a Creative, I can bet it’s probably yours, too.
I’m not just one thing, and wake up every day grateful for the fact that I was always meant to embody that. If you’re reading this, listening to this podcast and resonating: I want that same alignment, peace and abundance for you too.
